The short version: you can play every Koalaspies game without an account, and we don't ask for your name or email. The site is free because it shows advertising, and our advertising partners (including Google) use cookies. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time.

1. Who we are

Koalaspies is a free games website made by Justine Kelly in Sydney, Australia. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Koalaspies and Justine Kelly.

2. What we collect

• No accounts. You don't sign up, log in or give us your name to play.
• Game progress stays on your device. Some games may remember your settings or progress in your own browser (called "local storage"). That information stays on your device; we don't receive it. Clearing your browser data deletes it. [CHECK]
• If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, and we don't sell or share it.
• Basic server logs. Like almost every website, our web host may automatically record technical details such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. [CHECK — name your host, e.g. GitHub Pages]

3. Advertising and cookies

Koalaspies is supported by advertising so that the games can stay free. Ads are clearly labelled "Advertisement". Anything labelled "Koalaspies Shop" is our own store, not a paid ad.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
• You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The games will still work.

4. Other services this site uses

• Google Fonts provides the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
• QR codes (in the header and the share section) are generated by goqr.me (api.qrserver.com). To make the code, the address of the page you're on is sent to that service.
• Images in the shop panel load from Adobe Portfolio (myportfolio.com).
• The Koalaspies Shop is run on a separate platform with its own privacy policy. Nothing you do there is shared back to this site.

5. Children, schools and teachers

Many Koalaspies games are suitable for children and students, and they are designed to be run by an adult — a teacher, parent, carer or group host — on a shared screen. We don't ask players for any personal information, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

On pages intended for children, we ask our advertising partners to show only non-personalised ads, and we don't allow ads to be targeted to children based on their behaviour. [CHECK — this is true only once you tag those pages as child-directed in AdSense]

Teachers using the games in class: no student data is entered or stored by us, so no student accounts or parental consent forms are needed on our side. Please follow your school's own policy on websites that carry advertising.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by email), contact us and we'll delete it.

6. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you (usually none, or just an email), ask us to correct or delete it, or complain about how we've handled it. We aim to reply within 30 days. Australian visitors can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Visitors in the EU/UK have rights under the GDPR, and California residents under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of personalised advertising. We do not sell personal information.

7. Disclaimer

Education and entertainment

The games on Koalaspies are for education and entertainment. We work hard to make the content accurate, but we can't promise that every fact, answer or translation is complete or error-free, and games are not a substitute for a teacher, a textbook or official exam materials. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

Supervision and group play

Party and speaking games ask people to share opinions and talk about personal topics. The host is responsible for choosing games and questions that suit their group's age and comfort, and anyone can pass on a question. Young players should use the site with a parent, carer or teacher.

Safety content

Where games mention chemicals, hazard symbols or reactions, this is for learning to recognise them only. Do not try experiments at home. Always follow your school's safety rules and the label on the product.

Some links take you to other websites, including other Modern English pages and the Koalaspies Shop. We don't control other sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from using it. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Games, text, artwork and code on this site are © Justine Kelly unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to play them in class, on a projector or on a video call. Please don't copy, resell or re-host them without permission — ask us about a licence or a custom version instead.

8. Trademarks and affiliations

Koalaspies is independent. Names such as Kahoot!, Baamboozle, Blooket, Gimkit, Miss Universe and Miss Congeniality are the trademarks or titles of their respective owners. We mention them only to describe or compare our games, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Game-show and board-game formats that inspire our games are a homage, not an official version.
